H1B Expired..Extension in progress..any option

Hi Members,

 

Please help me. Here is my situation.

H1B Expiring in 9 days. Extension already filed but will take 3 months from now.

I have I-140 approved from current employer A.

 

My project is ending soon (40 days) and will be asked to leave if not project found. I don't see any projects my current company can place me in. Can I change employer in this state. I know there is bridge petition option but that's tricky. Any other option (on i 140 etc.).
