Continuing L1 status

Hi ,

 

I few simple queries on H1B. Currently I am on L1A status and my H1B RFE response was submitted on Sep-15 this year. Due to personal reasons, I want to continue with the company holding my L1A status?

 

1. In understand that to maintain L1A status ,I need to go out of the Country and come back to the country. What is the latest data I can go out of the country and come back? Does it have to OCT-1st given the fact that Petition is still under RFE response review or Can I do it 3-4 days after Oct-1?

 

2. Can I go to Mexico and come back in 2-3 days  given that I have valid L1A visa and I do not need a separate Mexican Visitor Visa?

1. The moment your COS to H1B is approved you need to exit and enter US with a valid L1A visa and I797.
