F1 Visa Approved; Need Change in University before traveling to USA

Hi,

 

My F1 Visa is approved yesterday. But I am not happy with the current I20 and University. They are asking for 100% payment of tuition fees before I leave India. They are threatening me to cancel the I20 and SEVIS Record.

 

This is my first F1 and have never traveled to USA.

 

At this stage, Can I seek I20 from any another university and travel to US in such I20. Is it required to go to stamping once more.

 

Or.

 

At the time of port of entry do I need to have the I20 from first university active.

You need to go for new F1 visa stamping.

You would have to get admission at another university. Universities have application deadlines, so it would probably for Spring quarter.

With the new I-20 you need to get a new visa.
