rshanka2 Posted September 14, 2015 Report Posted September 14, 2015 Hello, I need help and guidance regarding my case. Appreciate your time and help. I was on work visa (H1b) from Sept 2009- June 2013, got my H1b stamping in Nov 2012. I was in India for a year (June 2013- August 2014) and got back to US on F1. So, I havent used up the complete 6 years. I plan on graduating in May 2016 and before that I'm working on getting a full time in the USA. My question is : I can still get a H1b transfer from my previous employer to the future employer without going through the lottery system right?. Please advise Fromy your advice, make my goal to find a full time job becomes more clear and focussed. Many Thanks rshanka2
jairichi Posted September 14, 2015 Report Posted September 14, 2015 Yes. You are eligible for 6 years - time spent in US on H1B status.
JoeF Posted September 14, 2015 Report Posted September 14, 2015 You would get 6 years minus the time used for the H1. That would be outside the cap.
