kuhweenb
I’m thinking of starting the I-130 for my parents. They are 84 and 92 years old. Given their advanced age, they will definitely be considered as high risk. Does anyone know what $ amount one needs to show that will be considered acceptable by the visa issuing consulate? I know we have to show a minimum of 125% of the Federal Poverty Level - however, given their age, something tells me that this may not be enough. I am comfortably off with a good retirement plan. I have no debts, one child almost done with college, and I work for a school. Please note: that once my parents come here, my sibling who is on an E2 visa and is financially stronger than I am will be taking over all expenses from living to medical insurance, etc. But since this sibling is not a citizen, I cannot add them as a joint sponsor which would’ve made my application stronger. Any suggestions or insights would be greatly appreciated. KB Link to comment
JoeF
An I-134 is NOT used for GC purposes. The affidavit of support is form I-864, if I remember right. Link to comment
