In the new "Acceptance" cutoff dates announced in the Oct 2015 visa bulletin, I missed the PD by a month and I hope it will be current the next bulletin which becomes effective Nov 1st.

I have plans to travel to India from the mid of Nov to mid Dec. Is is advisable to travel after applying for AOS? Would it be considered as abandoned? I have a vaild H1B visa and will be returning back on the same visa.

AFAIK, acceptance cutoff dates will not move every month. May be once in 2-3 months( I guess).

They introduced this new cutoff dates just to make sure that actual PD will not move back in the next bulletin.

Expert Please advice - I am eligible to apply for AOS based on latest "Acceptance PD". I also have plans to travel to India from the mid of Dec to mid Jan. Is is advisable to travel after applying for AOS? Would it be considered as abandoned? I have a valid H1B visa and planning on returning back on the same visa.

AP might not come in time and I also don't want to use AP for re-entry to maintain H1B along side. am I missing any important point?

My attorney confirmed that there should not be any issue in travel after filling AOS. I have maintained H1B status and planing to come back on same H1B stamp (valid till end of 2016).  he just recommended that don't use AP at port of entry, simply present passport with H1b stamp and supporting docs if asked.
