COS while green card is in process

Hi.

 

I have filed for green card on my L1 Visa. Can I apply for a H1B visa or do I need to wait for my green card to come before I apply for H1B.

Once you get a GC you cannot be in any status other than being a permanent resident.

If you get your GC then what's the need of H1? What is your PD?

 

You can get H1 while your GC is under processing, but H1 has to be filed on April 1st.

For an H1, an employer would have to file an H1 petition for you.

When that is approved you can get an H1 visa.

Once you have a GC, you never again would need any non-immigrant visa, be it L1 or H1 or any other non-immigrant visa.
