nandac Posted September 5, 2015 Report Posted September 5, 2015 For consular processing, though my priority date is current, NVC is saying that I can start the process only when they activate the case - which apparently is going to take a few more weeks. Likewise, is there any such similar activation clause for filing I485 - or can it be filed simply after the priority date becomes current? Appreciate the feedback.
JoeF Posted September 6, 2015 Report Posted September 6, 2015 For both AOS and CP, the PD has to be current. For CP, the NVC handles the fees. Once the fees have been paid, they forward the case to the consulate.
