Can A H1 work for a second job (evening shift) for different company in another country? The h1 worker does not prefer to use current employer for the second job. Can she work with a third party employer for SOW purpose(1099) and will not get paid either on w2 or 1099 until she is on H1. Is this possible ? Please help.
rahul412 Posted August 21, 2015 Report Posted August 21, 2015 Nope, not on H1. If you are on H1 in US then you are supposed to work only for your H1 employer, you can't even work for yourself if that job pays you.
JoeF Posted August 21, 2015 Report Posted August 21, 2015 That is not allowed. In H1 status, you can ONLY work for the company that filed the H1. You can NOT work anywhere else in the world. And a 1099 is NEVER possible on H1, anyway.
