H4 Visa with photocopy of I 797 A of principal applicant

Hi I am on H1B and my did a Change of Status from F1 to H4. Now she is planning to travel to india. Initially both of us planned the travel but I realized that my employer misplaced my original I 797 A. My employer filed for a duplicate original I 797 A. 

 

 

Her grandfather is unwell and my wife really want to visit. So she planned her travel and booked her visa interview in chennai.

 

Question:

 

1. Can my wife travel and attend visa interview when request for my duplicate I 797 A is in process ?

 

1. Does my wife require to carry my I 797 A Original for her H4 Visa Interview in india ?

 

2. Will a photocopy of my I 797 A is sufficient for her H4 Visa interview ?
