mackr
Previously I was on student visa in the US (M.S degree in Engg). I returned to India after studies in 2011 within allowed time frame (no violations). Today, me and spouse received Canadian PR visa stamped on our passports. We are immigrating to Canada around Sep 17 2015. Since Canada is nearby, I plan to visit my brother and sister in the US once a year (Bro US citizen; sister H1B). I want to apply for visitor visa from India itself, since I see that most of the flights to Canada has a stop over in the U.S and US airports require TRANSIT VISA which has the SAME fees ($160/-) as VISITOR VISA. So I thought if I take visitor visa now itself, I won't have to separately pay for transit. What are our chances of getting visitor visa? How long will it take? Am I late in visitor visa application for a Sep.17 flight? Link to comment
jairichi
You are fine to apply for one. Should not be an issue. Link to comment
