aborkar Posted August 7, 2015 Report Posted August 7, 2015 Hi, I am with the same employer since my first H1 was filed in 2012 and got a extension till 2017. However, My first H1 was filed when I was working in Team A as Position A and my extension was done based on Team B as position B. I changed my team and position within same company. I got my first H1 stamped in 2013 and the stamp is valid till September, 2015. I am going to India in September this year and wanted to know if I am eligible for dropbox for my second stamping, because my employer is same. Also, I was never rejected any visa in the past which is another criteria for dropbox. Thank You!
KumarKP Posted August 7, 2015 Report Posted August 7, 2015 Based on the information that you provided here, I think you are eligible for drop box. When you are booking the appointment if the System determines that you are eligible for drop box, you should be good to go.
jairichi Posted August 7, 2015 Report Posted August 7, 2015 You are eligible for dropbox only if you had a H1B visa in your passport. Did the job responsibility for position A & B change?
firsth1 Posted August 7, 2015 Report Posted August 7, 2015 As per consulate website, you are eligible for drop box if your answer is yes for all the following questions. 1.I have a previous U.S. visa in the same class as the visa for which i wish to apply 2.My most recent visa was issued in India 3.I received my visa after January 1, 2008 4.My most recent visa (in the same class for which I am applying) was issued on or after my 14th birthday 4.I have no refusals for a visa in any class after my most recent visa issuance 5.If I am applying for an H or L (individual) visa, my prior visa in the same class is still valid or expired within the last 12 months.
