Lost I-797 original - Need to go for H1B visa stamping

Hi,

 

The visa stamp on my passport is expiring this September but is still valid in the I-797 approval notice. I am planning to head to Chennai, India to get my visa stamped. I qualify for the interview waiver program as I am applying in the same category and for the same employer but I lost my I-797 original and also I-129 original and only have the photocopy for both.

 

I have the following questions.

1. Is the original I-797 required for the dropbox interview waiver program?

2. Is the original I-129 required for the dropbox interview waiver program?

2. Will the above two documents be required at the Port Of Entry on my return to US?

1 & 2. Normally a copy might be enough. Check respective US consulate website.

3. You might be asked for original at POE.
