EB1A I-140 approved. Change employer before I-485

Hi all,

 

My current employer filed an EB1A petition which was approved 2 days ago. Since we filed I 485 concurrently, I have already completed the finger printing for the biometric. Now, can I change employer before the I 485 is approved? Or should I wait 180 days ? Approximately 120 days have passed since the concurrent filing of my 140 & 485. Also, what becomes of my status if I get laid off at this juncture?

It is possible the employer filed as a courtesy to you as EB1A needs no employer sponsorship. I would suggest involving a Lawyer soon to get appropriate guidance.

Yes, the employer did file it as a courtesy and the I 140 got approved.
