TheHornet Posted July 25, 2015 Report Posted July 25, 2015 Hello,I was wondering if I could get my H1B visa stamped at the Consulate in London. I've heard and read mixed reviews up until now. If anyone knows any better, please comment. That'll be extremely helpful. I have listed out some details about myself below:1) I completed my bachelor's in accounting and finance in a large state university in the United States2) I got my job through on campus interviewing in a large (the largest) regional accounting firm3) All my paychecks are through my employer. In addition, my employer will be happy to provide me with any letters, asserting facts, that would help me in the stamping process.4) My last f-1 is now expired5) I have been approved for the H1-B and have all the required forms. Just need to get the VISA stamped onto my passportI was planning to travel in December. My sister lives there, so a couple of weeks shouldn't be a problem. Please comment and let me know if I should try and get my Visa stamped in the London embassy or fly all the way back home? (to Mumbai). Regardless of what I do, I will update this thread for future reference.Thank you so much for your help.
pontevecchio Posted July 26, 2015 Report Posted July 26, 2015 You should have absolutely no trouble in Mumbai. If there is a problem in London you will have to go home for the visa in any case. Do you have a visa for the UK?
jairichi Posted July 26, 2015 Report Posted July 26, 2015 You are eligible to apply. http://london.usembassy.gov/niv/apply.html If you are in the United Kingdom you may apply for a visa at this Embassy regardless of your nationality or immigration status in the United Kingdom. This includes petition based applicants with a Notice of Action, Form I-797 listing another post;
