H1B Transfer regular processing time

I am currently working in a very big company and I have an offer from another reputed employer that I want to switch to. New company wants to file my h1b transfer in regular. Could you please let me know what is the processing time for regular processing to receive approval. Should I give my notice period in existing company after I receive approval? also, what are disadvantages if I join new company after obtaining receipt number provided I have clean employment history with reputed companies. any help is appreciated. Thank you

3 to 4 months. You might be in trouble if you resign from current employer based on receipt notice. What will be your situation if  current employer revokes H1B petition and new employer's H1B petition is denied?
