H1B Petition Amendment from India within 5 months of expiry

Here is the scenario in my case:
1. Valid petition ending 31st Dec 2015
2. Never got the visa stamped and obviously never traveled.
3. The project for which my petition was approved is now closed.
4. Getting a new assignment in another location for which I will need to apply for an amendment.
5. My amendment process starts somewhere in August 2015.

Questions:
1. What will be the end date of the new petition post amendment ?( Will it be as per the new end dates in the new client letter or it will be again 31st Dec 2015 (Which is my current expiry Date) -- Please note that I am not in US.
2. Can my company file amendment cum extension at the same time (Since my H1B expiry is in less than 6 months) to ensure that my new petition end date is beyond my current expiry date ?

1. Was an extension requested along with the Amendment appliction? Is 'Yes' it should ideally be the data that has been requested unless there is something in the supporting documents that might reduce the term.
