Employee99 Posted July 17, 2015 Report Posted July 17, 2015 Hello Murhy Forum, I am planning to renewal my indian passport in SFO . In old passport my spouse name is not included. Should I need to add my spouse name in the New Passport ? Is it manadatory to add my spouse name in the new passport? Suppose If i did not add, will there be any implications? Please provide your suggestions. Thanks!

Rahul -- If i add spouse name now, she will be getting my sir name and not her maiden name and my worry is all her usa government issued cards might be proabably have to change again because all these have her maiden name.

She can have her surname in the PP. That's how I added my wife's name in my PP.

This is not true. You can have the name added as-is without any change of Surname.
