magsiyer Posted July 16, 2015 Report Posted July 16, 2015 My parents had visitor visas for more than 13 years now (they renewed once). However, for the first time in those 13 years, an immigration officer in Abu Dhabi questioned why they were coming every year and staying for 6 months. My parents have been careful to never over stay the 6 month duration of stay and always leave before the 6 month is up. Is there anything illegal/ not correct in what they are doing? They are never dependent on the state (medical etc) and in fact spend money shopping, traveling etc. Is the immigration officer wrong in this instance. Thank you MS
jairichi Posted July 17, 2015 Report Posted July 17, 2015 Every year and for 6 months stay? And, this has been happening for 13 years now? A visitor is expected to spend more time in home country rather than abroad. They are really lucky not to be sent back to home country. Luck will run out one day and better to be careful.
rahul412 Posted July 17, 2015 Report Posted July 17, 2015 There is nothing wrong with the immigration officer. Think practically, will you stay in some country for almost 6 months every year? Frequent visits is a red flag.
