skmandava Posted July 15, 2015 Report Posted July 15, 2015 Hi, I am under H1B and I am currently working on a project for a Client under my employer which is coming to an end on Nov 4th. I need to travel to India on Nov 15th and return back on Dec 15th due to my marriage . This doesnt give me sufficient time to join a new project before travelling to India. Is it safe to travel without a project on H1B. Will I be asked for a Client letter at the port of entry. I have valid H1B visa though until Oct 2016. What is best step I can take in this situation? thanks, krishna
rahul412 Posted July 16, 2015 Report Posted July 16, 2015 Employment letter itself is enough, but you need to have a real job on H1.
jairichi Posted July 16, 2015 Report Posted July 16, 2015 If you work for a client you will be asked for a client letter. To be safe travel when you have a project and valid client letter.
victor_26 Posted July 16, 2015 Report Posted July 16, 2015 Yes you can he asked to prove your employment at the POE with your current employer. As long as your employer is not adopting shady practices by not paying you while on bench you should be good. Please take a letter from your employer along with your recent paystubs while not being on project as well to prove that you are in valid status. Please consult your company attorneys on drafting the letter or any supporting documents that would help you to justify the questions regarding your employment if asked at POE.
