Hi,

There were openings in the my client in which I was working from employer X.I have received an offer from lient and accepted. My H1B got transferred.I have received the hard copy also. I have given a notice period of 15 days. When I informed my Manager(I had to since he will work in same location). He told about non compete agreement and told me he will take Legal action against me and client.

I have checked with Client Manager, HR and Lawyers and they don't have any problem in hiring me. Instead they told my manager is simply scaring me. They told me about at will employment in California.

I have signed an agreement before reporting to onsite. which says I can't Join the customers which my company works for two years.

I work in California where there is an at will employment. I read in that no one can stop me by joining/leave any company. The agreements which i signed in India won't be valid in US and in California.

I don't want to continue with my current employer. If I join the client,Will my current employer can take any action against me?

Need help and suggestions

You need to show the agreement that you signed to an attorney who has experience in both labor and immigration law. They can advise you based on that agreement.
