livliv Posted July 9, 2015 Report Posted July 9, 2015 Many people get their Visas in Mexico. But of course if denied you will have to go to your home country directly.
jairichi Posted July 9, 2015 Report Posted July 9, 2015 Change in visa category is not permitted in US consulate. Mexico.
Attorney_21 Posted July 9, 2015 Report Posted July 9, 2015 You always need to check the U.S. consulate's website before attempting this - there's usually information on "third county national" applications that explains the consulate's policies on this. These frequently change, and vary from consulate to consulate. Currently, the U.S consulates in Mexico do not allow "first" visa applications in a particular category for people who do not live in Mexico (just renewals of a visa that you already have). You might look at the following: http://mexico.usembassy.gov/visas/non-immigrant-visas/who-can-apply.html
