imm123 Posted July 8, 2015 Report Posted July 8, 2015 Hi, One of my friend went to Visa interview this Monday (06/6) in HYD India . His visa got rejected . Here is what happened . The VO asked if he had any backlogs in his undergraduate and he told no and in reality he doesn't have any . VO found from their Database that he had 7 backlogs . VO also told that his visa got rejected once before , But this is the first time he is applying for a f1 Visa . VO asked his GRE Score by looking in to her system and it was different from what he had on file and in the system . VO asked to reconfirm the GRE Score for 3 times . He told VO that he didn't had any backlogs and was about to submit his proofs ,But she was busy looking in to her system and didn't see his transcript or Undergrad Certificates . She seems to be somewhat confused as My friend gave the answers confidently as he didn't had any backlogs either or applied for a Visa before . She handed over him a slip and it says he could reapply for a Visa again . Seems the Visa was not permanently rejected , But this is a peculiar situation . He sent an email to embassy about the incident and stated that he is ready to provide any sort of documentation for proof . Can I please know if any one has come across this situation before especially those who attended the Interview after Visa services were resumed by the Consulate . I heard that Visa database got crashed due to some h/w problem for few days and Visa services were temporarily suspended for few weeks to recover every thing . Thanks Thanks
jairichi Posted July 8, 2015 Report Posted July 8, 2015 An US consulate database will not have any files about your friend's backlogs or GRE scores. Looks like your friend is confused during interview. Ask your friend to talk with a good immigration attorney.
