thambu2491 Posted July 7, 2015 Report Posted July 7, 2015 Thanks for the help. I am on my OPT and am working with an Indian MNC. I graduated this May and joined them from June. Now, They are asking to me go to India to attend a 3 month training. Can I go and re enter USA with my I-20, EAD and the company letter. Please help.
JoeF Posted July 8, 2015 Report Posted July 8, 2015 You are not on OPT if you are in India. However, time abroad counts towards the 3-month unemployment limit on OPT, so the OP may not be able to come back on F1.
livliv Posted July 8, 2015 Report Posted July 8, 2015 If the overseas training is part of the employment, it will not be considered as unemployment. Read F student FAQ on ICE website and determine what documentation you need to maintain. Otherwise there is a 90 day limit on unemployment and any period outside the US counts as unemployment.

That's right, bcos OP is still employed and working for US employer.
