h4 travel while h1 extentsion is in progress

My H4 visa expires in August first week and I want to travel for the month of July to India and come back before the visa expires. What happens in the port of entry with a visa left with few days validity? Can we show a proof of H1 extension application ID/tracking ID?

 

Please guide me. thanks.

You will get an I94 based on H1B petition expiry date.

I am on H1B Visa which expires on 30th March 2016 and my employer is yet to apply for Visa Extension. My spouse is travelling to US in the month of Feb 2016 which is 1 month prior to visa expiration (both H1B and H4)

 

There are chances I might not have the Visa Extension receipt at the time of his arrival. What happens at the port of entry in this case?

He might get I94 till your petition expiry date.

Thanks for the reply!! If at the port of entry he is asked if why he is travelling so near to the Visa Expiration Date. In that case what should be his reply?

 

- Coming for 1 month only (will leave before visa expires)- But we do not have a return ticket.

OR

- Company has applied for extension but yet to receive a receipt for the same.
