Green Card for parents while inside the United States on B2 visitor visa

I am a US citizen. I would like to apply Green Card for my father and mother. Both of them have US visitor visa B2. I know it is possible to apply for their green card once they are here in USA on their B2 visitor visa.  Apply for I-130 Petition for Alien Relative, then Form I-485 for Adjust Status.

 

My questions are  -

 

1. Is there are any risk of violating the LAW?

 

1. How long will such process take?

1. Yes. But infractions by IMMEDIATE Relatives of US Citizens are automatically forgiven.

2. 8 Months would be a rough guess assuming all paperwork is available, BC etc.

 

My 2 cents is to consult a Lawyer with facts and then have him file after thinking seriously about CP for your folks.
