vikrampb Posted May 29, 2015 Report Posted May 29, 2015 Hi, My company wants me to travel to Mexico for a factory visit. I have an expired Visa stamp from previous company. Since then (2012) I have applied for extentions, I have an approved I-140 and currently applied for H1-B extension. I haven't travelled to India and was planing to make a trip to India just for Visa stamping. I came accross the Automatic Visa Revalidation process, where we don't require the stamping if the visit to Mexico or Canada is less than 30days. I wanted to see if anyone had travelled to Mexico/Canada and got a Visa revalidation done? and any experience you can share will be helpful. --Didn't know if this is topic is a good fit for this forum. Please direct me to correct forum if this isn't.
jairichi Posted May 29, 2015 Report Posted May 29, 2015 Is your I94 still valid? If it is then you can use AVR facility.
JoeF Posted May 30, 2015 Report Posted May 30, 2015 You just travel to Mexico and come back showing your passport and the valid I-94. That's it...
pontevecchio Posted May 30, 2015 Report Posted May 30, 2015 It means you are allowed back on the basis of your current I94 for trips less than 30 days to Canada or Mexico. In case of Canada you need a Canadian visa to enter Canada. You need to confirm with your company lawyer whether you need a visa to enter Mexico as it is a business trip.
vikrampb Posted June 3, 2015 Author Report Posted June 3, 2015 Thanks Jairichi, JoeF and Pontevecchio!
