H1B Chance as of now

Hello,
havent received any news regarding the visa…no rejection letter…no return package…dont know if check is cashed-in as my employer isnt giving me enough info(probably annoyed coz i send email requesting status every 2days)…he just told me to wait….in one of such h1b forums, one of the advanced member/Admin replied “lottery selected” on a similar post…wat are the chances now??? can someone please explain…I know the chances are slim at this point...This is the first time i am applying....i dont know whether to be hopeful or move on...how long should i wait before moving on or looking for other options....please advise

They do select more applications than slots. That way, if an H1 is denied, they can take an application out of the selected list. Your application seems to be in that list.

do you mean that the actual lottery is picked more than the cap limit?? so that they can fill the denied no.of applications from the additional pool??? sorry to keep asking...this is just my first time and i am confused.....

ok...i guess i can wait till 1st week of June.....time is running out for me to decide next step...never thought this process would be so stressful....
