t_anz Posted May 27, 2015 Report Posted May 27, 2015 Hi, I am currently on H4 and my visa extension is in progress. Now I want to convert my visa from H4 to F1 and I have received my I20 from the university. My queries are - 1. Do I need to take the help of attorney or I can submit my documents directly to USCIS for visa conversion. 2. After filing my conversion (F1 to H4), Do I need to revoke my H4 extension from USCIS as this is initiated from my husband's company. 3. My course is starting in July end and If my visa does not changes to F1 before the commencement of class in July then in that case I can join the university on F1. 4. My H4 visa is expiring in september. If by that time, I didn't get my F1 visa approval then I can continue my studies or is there any other repercussion. 5. Is there any rule for OPT and CPT in USCIS that the candidate should be on F1 visa for 9 months or is it based on college rules. 6. If I submit my change of status application before the start of the program and take admission on F1. Suppose I get my F1 approval in October then in that case would I be eligible for internship starting in January. (Supposing college follows the rule that international student must be enrolled for two consecutive terms full-time i.e from July end to december end )
