STEM OPT - Independent Contractor

Hi

 

I am on F1, OPT starting from 8th Jun. My course is eligible for Stem extension(17 months)

 

I got a job offer, but the company wants me to work as an Independent Contractor (1099)

Job role is relevant to my current degree.

 

I have 2 questions

1. Will there be any problem in getting STEM OPT extension?

2. Will there be any problems in future getting H1B?

You can. For getting extension, your employer must be enrolled in EVerify.

Hi , I am in the similar boat .. I am on 1099 ... and STEM OPT Extension is submitted and its in process. They are thinking of doing my H1.
1)Can anyone let me know if there are any issues in this? I am not getting enough good blogs on 1099 with STEM OPT.My employer is E verified and supported for OPT STEM extension process.

2)Also can I say yes for full time before they file my H1? All is going good with my company and I like working with them and my job.
