h4EAD while F-1 COS is in processing

Hi,

 

Currenty I am on h-4 status. I have applied for F-1 COS on Jan 30, 2015 and it is still pending for review. I am not sure how much time it will take. I call the customer care line and got the standard  response.

While my f-1 is in processing, Would I be eligible to apply h4 Ead?

I don't want to abandon the f-1 application right now, but If I don't get any status update on f1 in next 15-20 days then I will abandon it. Would it affect my h4 ead application if I apply?

You can apply for H4 EAD. That is fine.
