jaisonmathewbaby Posted May 11, 2015 Report Posted May 11, 2015 Got 3 letters from USCIS today. First is an RFE for me for my birth certificate dated may 2nd. Since I did not have a birth certificate, I sent a provisional certificate (translated since I was born in Saudi) and an affidavit from my mother. Now they are asking for a second affidavit and letter from authorities saying that the birth certificate is unavailable. Second RFE for my wife dated may 2nd. My wife was born in India but she too did not have a birth certificate and we provided affidavit from father. For her, they are asking an additional affidavit and a letter from authorities for non availability of BC. Third letter is a welcome notice for me, welcoming me to US. It says a decision was made in my case and i am now registered permenant resident and can expect card in 60 days. I am not sure what is happening. Is my case approved or do I have to respond to the RFE? Anyone in similar situation? This was dated may 4th, two days after rfe was dated.
Attorney_20 Posted May 15, 2015 Report Posted May 15, 2015 You should place a Service Request with USCIS about the RFEs and Welcome Letter. As a precaution, you should also make sure that timely responses to the RFEs are filed.
