a.curious Posted May 10, 2015 Report Posted May 10, 2015 Hello there, I have managed to procure the three NOCs from the three departments. Now the last step, I need to have the Ministry of External Affair's (MEA) Consulate, Passport and Visa (CPV) Division to forward a recommendation to the US Embassy in India. I didn't find any information regarding NORI on MEA's or CPV's website, there is no phone number I can call. Noone replies to the emails. I would really appreciate if someone has any experience or info of the process involved at CPV, or a phone number I can call.
jairichi Posted May 10, 2015 Report Posted May 10, 2015 Look at the concerned Indian Consulate website. You will have all details. For example, attached find NORI process at Indian Consulate, Chicago website. http://indianconsulate.com/page/display/87/17
a.curious Posted May 11, 2015 Author Report Posted May 11, 2015 Thanks for the info, but the candidate does NOT reside in the US and thus none of the Indian embassies in US are agreeing to help with the third step of the process. We are being told to get the recommendation from MEA directly sent to the US Embassy in India. That is why I am looking for a way to get in touch with MEA since I couldn't find any NORI related info on their website.

a.curious Posted May 17, 2015 Author Report Posted May 17, 2015 Thanks for the info. I tried calling and emailing but no response. It looks like MEA has a certain process in place for NORI, which, btw, is not listed anywhere. The address is: UndersecretaryMinistry of External Affairs,CPV Division, Patiala House Annexe,Tilak Marg, New Delhi - 110001. I am still trying to find out what documents, in addition to the copies of three NOCs, would they need.

I have 3 NOCs but I don't know how to proceed Stage 3 from India. Did you manage to send your docs to MEA? Can you let me know the details please? Thanks!
a.curious Posted June 23, 2015 Author Report Posted June 23, 2015 Hey kp1986, The process, as I described in my query above, is to send all the docs you have gathered to MEA. Unfortunately there is no formal webpage that describes the steps clearly but that is what seem to work for many. There is also no way to track the document once it is received and the office is yet to answer my phone or email :(
