Perm not yet done, company has been acquired

My company has been acquired by another company. My perm was to be filed in July as we had firing in January. Now that the company got acquired in May , can I start my Perm early under the new company. While acquistion was happening we had to let go a lot of people in April. Will this cause any problems for my perm. I am very confused and need to chase my other options. Any help would be appreciated
