Your reason for a visitor visa for your parents will lead to direct rejection. Let them apply with tourism intention so that they can visit you and US. Link to comment

Second, helping out in the household during your surgery is not allowed for visitors. Visitors are coming to visit, not to work. US professionals can take care of all your needs during the surgery. Your parents can provide moral support, but that's it. Link to comment
