F1/H4/H4 EAD

Hello,

 

 

I was initially on H4 then changed to F1.I am currently doing my Masters on F1 and planning to graduate in Dec 2015. My spouse has I140 approved and I would be eligible for H4 EAD. 

 

I am confused on which option to choose:-

Option 1: Do COS from F1->H4->H4 EAD now (approx 6-8 months).

 

Option 2:I continue to be on F1, then work on OPT(eligible 29 months) for few months and then do COS from F1->H4->H4 EAD.

 

Option 3:I continue to be on F1, then work on OPT(eligible 29 months) for few months and then do H1B

 

Could you please suggest which option is better. Also, if you could tell the reason then it would be helpful to decide.

 

 

Another question :- While working on F1 OPT would I be eligible to work during F1 - H4 COS and H4-H4 EAD COS ?

You will not be eligible to work during  H4-H4 EAD. Once H4 status is approved you have to stop working until H4 EAD is approved.

Only option 3 allows you to work without any interruption.
