Getting copy of approved petition based on receipt number

Hi All,

 

I have applied for H1B in 2008 and the petition got approved. I have the receipt number for the approved i.e EAC number. did not go for visa stamping with the petition due to personal reasons.

Got to know the same petition can be used for cap exemption for current year.

 

I have switched the company and unable to contact the previous employer to get the petition copy.  Is there anyway to get the petition copy based on the receipt number?

A receipt number is more than enough to file a cap exempt H1B petition.

Hi,

 

I have checked with one of the prospective employer and according to them, copy of H1B-receipt notice is required. Just receipt number is not enough as they cannot beneficiary's name from USCIS website based on receipt number.

Maybe your prospective employer is refusing to apply because they can not verify that the petition actually belongs to you.
