Going on H1 do we need POE letter?

Hello, 

I am travelling on H1 end of this month. I do have every original company documents with me. The thing is I have heard we need a Port of entry letter from the company when we arrive at airport. I asked my company, they said no need of it and they refuse to give me. Is it really needed? 

Please let me know asap.

All you need is employment letter, visa and 797 at POE.
