Incorrect cip code in I20

i have a question regarding the i20 CIP code. I applied for my OPT last week and got an email from USCIS that the application has been received. I just noticed today that the CIP code in my I20 was incorrect. Mine is a STEM degree but the CIP code printed in my I20 is not a STEM designated degree. What can I do about this. my advisor told that they will issue a new i20 with updated cip code and I can send the same with my i797 receipt notice and a statement of purpose letter describing the reason for change of the code. She said no need for reseeding other documents and the 380$ check. I'm a bit worried if OPT will get processed on time and also without issues for STEM extension in future. Can someone please confirm or advise?
