walnut
Hi, My perm is approved and the priority date is current. 140 & 485 is filed simultaneously. What is the average time to get the EAD? Can I travel out of US before I receive the EAD? Is there a way to travel without creating any issues on the GC processing? Link to comment
itsmeusa
EAD is issued within 90 to 120 days these days. Yes, you could travel before receiving EAD as long as you have valid US visa to re-enter. Link to comment
omshiv
No..you cannot travel out of US once you filed 485...once you receive AP you may. Link to comment
Belle
You don't travel on EAD - you travel on AP, which can be the same card. You can travel on valid dual intent visa, like H or L, but not on other types. Link to comment
pingpong
Hi, To my knowledge, You can travel while your 485/Advance Parole is pending provided you can reenter US with H/L status. If for some reason your H/L visa is denied and you cant re enter US then USCIS can assume that you AOS application is abandoned. Even if your Advance Parole is approved while you are out of the country you might not be able to use it to re enter (You may want to confirm this with an attorney). Link to comment

sushma09
What is the maximum length of stay out of USA without impacting the i-485 processing/ AOS application, with my EAD/AP combo card expiring in another 2 years? Link to comment
