H1B transfer still pending - Got terminated

Hi all,

I changed my job in May and my new employer initiated a H1B transfer on 5/29/14, regular processing with Vermont. I have a VALID visa stamp until Jan 2015.

The client decided to terminate all contractors due to budgetary reasons and I am one of the victims. I was given no notice and was terminated from the client site on 8/8/14.
My H1B case status still says 'Initial Review'. I checked with my employer and they are going to VOID my transfer petition per law.

Has anybody come across a situation like this? Can I search for a new job without an approval notice?
Please let me know what my options are?

What does your employer say? Either apply for a COS to B2 or H4 asap. This will help you to look for a job and secure one. If approved without an I94 just exit and enter with a valid H1B visa and new I797.

It looks like you are currently out of status. File COS to B2 ASAP and find another employer.

Thanks for your replies. Fortunately I got my approval last Friday and employer has decided to re-market me :)
