Is H4 extension required even if I-94 is valid

Hi All,

 

My wife and kid have H4 Visa stamp from my previous employer which is valid till 9/5/2014. I recently traveled to India and returned with family along with my new employers I-797 petition and all three of us were given I-94 valid till the new petition expiry date ie 4/3/2016.

 

Now my question is, do my wife and kid require new H4 visa to continue to stay in the US after 9/5/2014 or is it implied to be valid till 4/3/2016?

Once inside US the I94 expiry date matters and not the visa as visa is only an entry document. So, no need for a new H4 visa stamping to stay in US.

VISA is only required when they enter into US. Not when they are already in US.

A visa is only required for entry and the status and duration of stay is based on the I94.
