H1B transfer - H4 transfer required or not before H4 to F1 COS application

This question is with respect to H1B transfer. We have an approved final extension H1B/H4 petition and during our visit to India we have got the visa stamped as well.

 

Now we are in US and I am in the process of changing my employer from Company A to Company B. Company B attorney recommends that H4 transfer is not required along with H1B transfer.

 

1) Will H4 will be invalid after my transfer to company B?

 

2) If not, can I use the company A I797/company A stamped H4 visa of my wife and company B I797/company A stamped H1B visa for the process H4 to F1 change of status? Will this cause any issue for my wife COS?
