Stamped L1A Visa valid for 2 years after maxout

I've stayed for 6 years on L1 status. Initially I was on L1B and later converted to L1A in Nov 2012 and got visa stamped in Canada for next 5 years. So new visa end date is Nov 2017.

 

However my 7 year max-out is in Nov 2015. My GC options have been exhausted since PERM got denied. I'm planning to stay outside the USA for a year and come back after. Can I use my stamped L1A visa to come back. The current 140 document has the maxout date (nov 2015) as the end date. Do I get a new 140 through my company?

 

FYI - I will be working for the same company and department.

If you have a valid visa you can travel but you will need a new I797.
