hari.cool88 Posted August 3, 2014 Report Share Posted August 3, 2014 Hi, I would like to know if there would be any problem if I travel out of states for my marriage during or after my Master's degree, and could you pleases tell me what would be my visa status and whether my Spouse would be coming on F2 dependent while I'am on OPT. I Mean the whole idea of Marriage and bringing the spouse with me during or after my graduation while on my OPT,nothing is clear, kindly elaborate what would be the difficulties that i would have to face? Is it advisable to travel during OPT and get married and return back with my spouse? Kindly explain what would be the hardships and the appropriate time for my marriage and to bring my spouse. Also please tell me when is the right time to initiate the OPT during my master's program? Link to comment
F1struggle Posted August 10, 2014 Report Share Posted August 10, 2014 If you have a valid F1 visa then talk to your DSO for F1 for your wife. If your visa is not valid you both need to make an appointment for the visa. OPT may be initiated earliest 90 days before program end date. Link to comment
