Travel from India to US with 4 months of passport validity

Today's date: 24 Jul 2014.

My Travel Dates: leaving USA on 22 Aug 2014, returning to USA on 13 Sep 2014

Indian Passport Expiry: 19 Jan 2015

My Current H1-B expiry: 30 Sep 2014.

 

Will it be OK if I travel to India with my Indian passport expiring in less than 6 months time on the date of travel?

 

I have applied for H1-B extension and I will be getting the I-797 approval notice before leaving USA.

 

I would really appreciate your help.

Yes, it is fine. Your I94 expiry will be based on passport expiry.

You need to get a new Passport first  as you will only get an I94 till passport expiry.

I94 till January, 2015 is the problem.

Please check with airlines , Airlines do not let you board , if your passport is expiry in 6 months . I had the same issue with emirates

Did you travel to India and returned back with your old passport? What did you do at the end? I have the same situation. Please let us all know what you did.
