I am on F-1 visa (OPT) , I completed my master's degree in Bio medical Engineering and I am planning to apply for H1-B in 2015 . I am working as Sr.QA Analyst in healthcare domine. My company handles only claims data which is used for Research study. Right now i am a contractor but , the company is ready to offer me full time and do my H1-B .

My concern is what are my chance for H1-B ( will there be an issue on job relation to degree) and Which category should I apply and Should I apply in 2015 or wait till my OPT ext is done ( I.e 2016 )

Thanks,

Keerthy

I doubt your qualification is related to your profession. Talk to a good attorney.

Not that I want to provide any career counselling to you, but do you seriously think working as QA will be doing justice to your Bio-Medical Masters degree?

With that said I would assume youy company will have difficulties proving why they need a Masters in Bio medical Engineering to work as a QA, especially if the company handles only claims data which is used for Research study.

Again, it has been said a million times on various forums, it is the job requirement which determines the EB catergory, and it will be your employer filing for H1B, you have no other involvement than to provide the required documents related to your education, experience and personal information.
