Arrived to Vancouver from Seattle via road on Sunday June 1st evening and stayed at Best Western Plus downtown. BW plus is a decent hotel, not too expensive compared to others and provides free shuttle.

Took shuttle in the morning on June 2nd to consulate, process was less cumbersome than what I thought.

After security check they took my passpport and I-797 to verify detailsgave the token and then went for fingerprints. After that was escorted to waiting lounge for your token to be called.

Visa officer was a calm and helpful.

VO: what company do you work for?

me: XYZ

VO: where is it located?

Me: Headquartered in XXX city and I work at their YYY location.

VO: So, you work for XYZ company, not any clients??

Me: Yes

VO: where do you live?

Me: YYY only.

VO: Give me your recent paystubs, employment verification and LCA

Me: given.

(VO checked through everything.)

VO: What is your title at XYZ?

Me: answered.

VO: and your salary?

Me: answered.

VO: alright, your visa is issued and you'll get email notification for your passport collection. Gave me info about how to track my visa and passport and a right to employees pamphlet.

Took a walk to return to hotel, which is around 10-15 minutes.

Checked my status of visa the next morning and it said it was issued. Same evening got email that passport is delivered to loomis but not ready to pickup.

Thursday morning checked passport status and it was at facility. Picked up passport on Thursday afternoon.

Vancouver is a great city to explore. Enjoy your stay, it has got great downtown to hangout(Yale town/ English bay),  tourist spots, food place and amazing nightlife ;)  (Advise: if you are not travelling by car, consider their hop-on/hop-off sightseeing tour for $38/two days),take a rental bike and bike through Stanley park,  there are free shuttles to Capilano suspension bridge and grouse mountain from Canada place (north in downtown) in the summer time. ( Don't miss these two places ). If you want to have some real tasty Indian(Punjabi) food, explore nearby town of Surrey.

Hi Sumo,

I am Full time employee and work for many of my Company's Health Insurance clients. I am a work from home employee and my LCA has my Home address as my Work location. I don't have a client letter and my company is providing an Employee Verification Letter. If there is a question related to who is my End client, should i say i dont have an End client and work for my Company as a direct Employee? What are your thoughts?

Thanks!

Hi,

Yes according to my limited understanding you should say you work for your employer, as you are not working at your client locations. I am a full time employee of a company which has multiple offices. thats why VO confirmed that company is headquartered in other state, but I am at different location.

Regards.
