I am in the process of filing the I-539 for my mother's visitor visa extension.

What should be quoted for the below question although this question is not mandatory in the form

 

1.Amount of support per month.

 

 

Should that be mentioned?

As you said it is not mandatory it is your call.

No. But if she overstays the I94 and subsequently the Extension is denied she will need a new visa. If she can be articulate, that is not a major problem.

it does not matter me..but it should matter OP as his/her mother would be sent back on the next plane if the officers at POE find out she's coming here for baby sitting as that's illegal.

Extensions should be for a legitimate reason and not because of poor visit timing or engaging in inappropriate activities. It should matter to all because actions of past visitors positively and negatively affect future applicants.
