Cap and Non-cap H1b

Hi.I had an immigration query.

 

 i have an employer who will file for me on april 1 for cap H1b,and suppose it gets rejected due to the lottery process,do I have to wait for a certain period of time before  a different non-cap employer is ready to  sponsor for cap-exempt H1b?

also,if the cap H1B whether or not it turns out to be a lottery process ,by which month do we get to know of the approval by USCIS if filed on april1?
